New Resolution: Daily Updates

I came across this Ira Glass quote on a Pinterest page today and realized it represents exactly how I feel about my blog.  I work on posts, but rarely post them, because they aren't quite up to my standards yet.  Recently I've realized that I'll never get anywhere with it if I don't get over the fear of posting (no one is reading it yet anyway), and just push that pesky orange publish button!

Also, it was kind of fun to read about Ira Glass and his "manifesto" of how he improved his story-telling style for radio stories.

So, today I begin a new resolution:  a post everyday, even if I think it's silly.  Maybe someday I'll actually have blog readers, so I better get some practice in beforehand!

Daily Inspiration #6

There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born there, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size, its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter--the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is New York of the person who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something... Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness, natives give it solidity and continuity, but the settlers give it passion.
